a place to hang your hat
I enjoyed reading this much more that the Iowa 80 paper. One thing I admire about this paper is how detailed he is. It's always helps when you can picture yourself where this person is and who they are interacting with. He described how it is like when you are homeless, and I feel like I can trust his judgement since he himself grew up struggling. I got the feeling he actually cared about the people he was writing about, and it was not just a paper. I guess that's why it made it into the books. One thing I actually did think the paper could do with out is.. at the beginning, he goes to far into his beliefs and concerns about the homeless, and I thought this was an analyzing paper, not a "what's your opinion" paper. He also had a little bit of an mercyless undertone in his writing. I understand he was trying to explain how ignorant he was to the reasons why people may be homeless. At the same time I do feel he could have taken it down a few notches off of the high horse. That didn't seem to seep through through much more of the paper and I do feel imformed after reading this and that the author did their job at portaying this group.
